First aid devastated after 2 boys killed in fire in Detroit home

DETROIT – First aid took only six minutes from the time the fire started to reach the house on the east side of Detroit shrouded in flames.

“The units came in, we suppressed the fire and, unfortunately, we lost two children,” said Detroit fire commissioner Eric Jones. “It is extremely tragic when you lose a child, but whenever you lose two children at Christmas, it is unimaginable.”

With most respondents being parents, they put themselves in the place of the mother who lost the two boys, Dylan and Demarion, aged 6 and 7.

“As you can imagine, there are many people who are very hurt. Our firefighters are injured. It’s Christmas, ”said Jones. “They all have children, it is unimaginable. When I got the call, I literally couldn’t believe it. “

Three other children escaped from home with several injuries. Site 4 learned that the mother had to skip the second story with a son to get out alive.

Unfortunately, heart pain is not new to the family.

“We lost our brother earlier this year and now we have just lost our two nephews, so we are grateful for everyone else who managed to survive, but we are suffering and it will not be easy,” said Denisha Hairston, aunt of the two boys.

Investigators are working to find out what caused the fire.
