HENRICO COUNTY, Virginia – Four Henrico firefighters were taken to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening after their fire truck rolled over en route to an emergency call on Sunday morning.
“[The fire truck] was traveling north on Woodman Road responding to a call to an unconscious person when he turned on the road, got off the paved road and overturned, “wrote a Henrico Fire spokesman in an email about the accident.” The road conditions were snowy. -covered and very slippery. The truck was from the Lakeside Fire House and the accident was reported around 7:20 am, near the intersection of Woodman Road and Spider Drive, not far from the Church of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes.
The road was closed for investigation and cleaning in the event of an accident.

“All four firefighters managed to get out of the aircraft on their own,” continued the e-mail. “The initial medical emergency was handled by other units that responded at the same time. There was no delay in attending.”
Henrico Fire urged drivers to delay their trip on Sunday and allow teams to snow-clear roads.
