One of the new Final Fantasy VII-related brands that was registered in Japan earlier this month was registered in Europe and Canada as well.
As detected by Final Weapon, the Ever Crisis brand was registered in Europe on January 19 and in Canada on January 18, suggesting a possible worldwide breakthrough in the near future.
The trademark Ever Crisis is a clear return to the Final Fantasy VII Compilation, which expanded the world introduced by the seventh entry in the series. He also follows the name scheme for the Compilation, which started with Advent Children and ended with Dirge of Cerberus.
Ever Crisis may not be the only FFVII-related project currently underway. According to rumors, Square Enix will soon announce the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The original Final Fantasy VII is now available for PC and consoles. Remake, on the other hand, was released last year only for the PlayStation 4, a major reimagination of the original, despite some controversial story developments.
Redoing Final Fantasy VII properly is something that will always be very difficult to achieve. Taking everything into account, Square Enix did a good job with the first part, but the controversial ending will split the fanbase: some will love it, some will hate it. It is undeniable, however, that the developer managed to make it look like an epic journey using only a small slice of the entire adventure.
