A few weeks ago, we heard from Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu – who worked on most Final fantasy games in some capacity and other RPG hits like Time trigger – may be ending the day due to health problems.
Now, in a small update, Final Fantasy creator and veteran designer, Hironobu Sakaguchi, has declared the Apple Arcade exclusive, Fantasian, could also be your last project. Here’s exactly what he said during a chat with VGC:
“I think it is certainly possible that this is my last project and that was in the back of my mind as we developed it.
In saying this, the 58-year-old man remains open to the idea of continuing to run his company (Mistwalker), but says he probably needs at least a vacation:
“To be completely honest with you, I didn’t think much about the company’s next steps or where we want to go, and I think I could use a little vacation between now and everything we do next. So let’s see what happens, this is yet to be seen. “
Sakaguchi was responsible for the first five episodes of the Final Fantasy series and continued to oversee the series as a writer and producer. He formed Mistwalker in 2004 and started creating titles like blue Dragon, The Last Storyand now Fantasian.
Although there was no mention of Fantasian coming to the Switch (at least not yet), the trailer – featuring hand-made dioramas – is still worth a look.
