Square Enix has revealed two new Final Fantasy 7 mobile games: a battle royale and a single-player RPG.
Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier is a real mobile battle with third-person melee combat and shooting and an original story taking players back 30 years before the events of Final Fantasy 7. Given that the game has just been announced and we only have a brief teaser trailer, we’re not sure what else to expect from the first soldier, but the trailer mentions Soldier and says that you will “destroy your enemies and rise through the ranks”. Square says it should hit Android and iOS mobile devices later this year. Check out the trailer:
The other mobile game that Square Enix announced today is called Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, a single-player RPG that retells the entire history of Final Fantasy 7, including the compilation titles. Square calls it a “chapter-structured single player” and a “return to the world of Final Fantasy 7 with a nostalgic visual touch”.
As you will notice in the trailer below, the game features an isometric perspective and an art style similar to the original PlayStation classic. Ever Crisis appears to be a solid addition to the console-based Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which is being divided into several complete games. As Square itself expresses, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is “another possibility for a remake.” Expect to see this launch on mobile devices in 2022.
During the current PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Square Enix also revealed Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade, an updated PS5 version of the acclaimed PS4 game released last year. Intergrade includes improved performance and visuals, as well as a new episode in which you play as the fan favorite ninja, Yuffie.
Here are all new 2021 games we can’t wait to check.
