Fight begins at the FLL terminal after travelers refuse to wear masks – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

FORT LAUDERDALE-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLA. (WSVN) – Three passengers fought at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport when some travelers’ refusal to wear masks caused them to be expelled from a plane, causing a flight delay.

The cell phone video captured the women involved in the fight as they exchanged blows at the FLL American Airlines terminal on Wednesday.

Moments after the fight started, an assistant in the Broward Sheriff’s Office is seen pulling one of the women while another was lying on the floor.

BSO investigators said passengers were forced to leave a flight to Chicago for not following the mask’s mandate.

When the police escorted the women back to the terminal, officials said, they were met with boos from frustrated passengers waiting at the gate.

At some point, officials said, words were exchanged and the fighting started.

The footage shows the women punching each other and pulling their hair.

A traveler who identified himself as Paul was shocked after watching the video on his cell phone.

“Fighting for what? What are you fighting for? “he said,” and they are strangers. Didn’t these people know each other before? I don’t understand. “

The incident came after two women started fighting with federal agents who were taking them off a plane at Miami International Airport. Investigators said one of the suspects threatened a police officer with a gun.

The two women appeared at the title court on Thursday afternoon. They were accused of serious aggression against a police officer and of resisting a violent police officer.

“He claims he has a knife in his purse and he spit in the face of several agents,” said Miami-Dade Citcuit judge Mindy S. Glazer during one of the bail hearings.

“The co-defendant punched the agent,” said Glazer during the second suspect’s hearing.

“What ?! Are you serious?” Replied the suspect.

No arrests were made as a result of the fight in the FLL.
