On Monday, it was announced that a revival of “Sex and the City” will arrive on HBO Max, but Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, will not return.
Instead, the new chapter, entitled “And Just Like That …”, will feature Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) as they navigate life, family and friendship in their 50s.
Over the years, Cattrall talked about the problems she had with her castmates, especially Parker, and stated publicly several times that she never wanted to play Samantha again.
“Sex and the City” started as a television show in 1998 and ran until 2004 on HBO. The four best friends got together for two films, released in 2008 and 2010.

Cattrall appeared on “Piers Morgan’s Life Stories” and said that she was never friends with the other three women and that Parker was not “cool” on set.
