Federal police arrested Eduardo Nicolas Alvear Gonzalez, 32, in Virginia on Tuesday, and accused him of entering a restricted building, disorderly or disturbing conduct and parading, demonstrating or picketing inside the Capitol on January 6. , according to a criminal complaint.

A family member informed the FBI that Gonzalez is the bearded man seen in the videos wearing an olive-colored sun hat, a long-sleeved shirt, a light green backpack, a black pouch and a red, white and blue American flag pants while smoking marijuana at the Capitol Rotunda.

On a second YouTube titled “The Capitol Rotunda Doobie Smoker”, someone asks Gonzalez why he is smoking marijuana inside the Capitol, and he replies, “freedom,” says the FBI.
Gonzalez, of Ventura, appeared in Virginia’s federal court on Friday.
Prosecutors say he is a fan of spreading conspiracy theories online that are in line with QAnon, a movement favored by right-wing extremists.
Defense lawyer Rodolfo Cejas defended his client by saying that believing in conspiracy theories is not illegal.
“It can be strange. It can be a variety of things. It is not a crime, ”he said.
More than 200 people were arrested and federally accused of breaking into the Capitol during the riot that killed five people, including a Capitol police officer.
