February 10 Black Ops Cold War patch notes: bug fixes between modes

There are only a few weeks to go before the end of the 1st Cold War Black Ops season, which means that the 2nd season is quickly on the horizon. To ensure a happy hunt, here are 5 things we want to see in Treyarch’s newest CoD season.

You have to imagine that Treyarch has been working hard in the 2nd season of the Cold War Black Ops since the moment the 1st season went down. Dropping a lot of content is not an easy task and, after all, requires a lot of work to happen.

Season 1 offered cool weapons like the MAC-10 and Streetsweeper, remakes of Raid & Express and new game modes like Dropkick. However, there is a lot of room for improvement and here are five easy ways for Treyarch to make Season 2 even better and more enjoyable in the latest Call of Duty game.

5. Old and new maps in BOCW Season 2

Needless to say, Black Ops Cold War could probably have more maps at launch, instead of spreading them out periodically during game launch. Thanks to updates and new content, the game now has 12 different “6v6” maps for players to enjoy.

Now, a leaker claimed weeks ago that 8 more map remakes were coming. Since that post, Express took a train ride in the 1980s, and we could see it easier along the way too. The Pines is an original and excellent map and it would be nice to see some new maps, as well as some remakes as well.

4. New and exciting game modes in BOCW Season 2

One thing Black Ops Cold War definitely does not lack is a real selection of game modes for players to enjoy. Between Standard, Hardcore and a multitude of other playlist options, there are so many options for players.

But some fan-favorite modes are still noticeably absent and there is always room for originality and ingenuity as well.

3. Best Spawns in BOCW Season 2

We cannot think of a Call of Duty game in recent memory that has had these spawns placed in an unusual way. Several maps such as Crossroads, Armada and Satellite have clearly exposed spawn areas that leave players susceptible to a litany of consecutive deaths.

We can forgive this sort of thing occurring on a small map like Nuketown ’84, but it really shouldn’t be happening on medium to large maps. Hopefully, Treyarch realized this and reevaluated the game’s spawn system.

2. Fewer bugs and failures in season 2 of BOCW

We recognize that this is probably more difficult than it looks, but fewer bugs would contribute to a healthier experience.

Only in the first season, Raid became Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road, a flaw that makes players invisible and even a bug that left players legless. We are not asking for perfection, but perhaps less insects and allowing us to retain more of our members.

1. Enhanced scoring system in BOCW Season 2

It’s no secret that the Black Ops Cold War’s scoring system is terribly unbalanced. Regardless of the way you are playing, the game actively encourages players to focus on deaths, deaths and nothing but deaths.

A player who ignores the goal of getting 10 killstreak will benefit much more than someone who has spent the entire game focused on capturing flags in Domination and blocking Hardpoints. There is little incentive to focus on the goals and Treyarch absolutely needs to address this.

These are the top five things that we think could make Black Ops Cold War one of the best Call of Duty games of all time, if all could happen.

Some potential weapon information that leaked out for season 2 has already become public knowledge, and we will definitely update it as soon as Treyarch officially starts releasing the new information.
