FBI: The pharmacist who tried to spoil vaccines also believes the Earth is flat

A pharmacist in Wisconsin who ruined hundreds of coronavirus vaccines because he feared they would harm people also told investigators that he believes the Earth is flat, according to a new report.

Steven Brandenburg, 46, pleaded guilty last month to a couple of charges of “attempting to tamper with consumer products without taking into account the risk that another person might be put in danger of death or personal injury” after prosecutors say he spoiled hundreds of modern coronavirus vaccines.

A night pharmacist at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin, Brandenburg told investigators that he believes the Earth is flat and the sky is not real, according to The Washington Post.

The Post reported, citing court records, that Brandenburg told authorities that heaven is a “shield placed by the government to prevent individuals from seeing God”.

Hospital officials initially said they believed that a human error caused more than 50 vials of Moderna vaccine to be removed from a freezer that kept them viable.

Prosecutors finally determined that Brandenburg had removed the bottles on December 24 and 25, according to court documents.

“Brandenburg was very involved in conspiracy theories,” a pharmacy technician told police authorities.

Brandenburg’s license has been suspended and he is due to return to court on 9 February.
