Diesel negotiated in his life as an outlaw for fatherhood in the new teaser for Fast & Furious 9 that was released during the Super Bowl earlier this year.

Apparently immersed in a slower and safer lifestyle, Dom and his wife Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) are caught in a conversation about ‘losing the old life’.

After Dom admits he misses the old life “every day”, the action and quick editing intensify and take viewers on a crazy journey full of high-speed chases and spectacular, burning accidents.

Most of the action shows Dom and Letty, behind the wheel, destroying everything in the streets, as they confront Dominic’s younger brother, Jakob, a deadly killer.

It was revealed in October last year that Universal Pictures is planning two final trips to its lucrative Fast & Furious franchise, with director Lin returning to command, according to Deadline.

When all is said and done, Lin will have directed seven of the 11 Fast and Furious films, including the next F9.

Diesel will again star as Dominic Toretto, while producing through his production company One Race Films.

Also to be returned are Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Ludacris, Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto), Nathalie Emmanuel (Megan Ramsey) and Sung Kang (Han).

End of the road: the film, directed by Justin Lin, is the sequel to The Fate of the Furious (2017), and Universal confirmed last year that it plans to make two final films

It is rumored that Charlize Theron portrays her character Cipher once again, which debuted in 2017 on The Fate of the Furious and returns on F9.

It is also possible that new members of the F9 cast, John Cena, Helen Mirren, Cardi B and Reggaeton singer Ozuna will be able to return to the last two installments.

Perhaps the biggest question, however, is whether Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will return to the franchise in the past two films.

Johnson debuted in the franchise in Fast Five, returning to star in Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7, although he has a very tough rivalry with Vin Diesel during production.

In good hands: Director Lin is back in charge in both films and, when all is said and done, he will have directed seven of the 11 Fast and Furious films, including the next F9

He finally left the main franchise to star alongside Jason Statham in the spin-off Fast & Furious: Hobbs and Shaw.

There is also the possibility of bringing back several other stars who have appeared in previous films, such as Gal Gadot, who made his film debut in 2009 as Gisele, and returned in Fast Five 2011, Fast & Furious 6 2013 and Furious 7 in 2015.

No release dates for the 10th and 11th films in the franchise have been announced yet.

The return of rock ?: Perhaps the biggest question mark, however, is whether Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will return to the franchise in the last two films after leaving the main franchise.
