Fantasian is an Apple Arcade game from the creator of Final Fantasy

If you like the Final Fantasy franchise, you’ll be happy to know that a new game from Hironobu Sakaguchi will arrive exclusively at Apple Arcade. Fantasian is an RPG set in a setting made of more than 150 hand-made dioramas that mix physical environments and 3D characters.

The story begins in a machine-ruled kingdom. Within this multidimensional universe, the balance of ‘Chaos and Order’ becomes a key factor in the struggle for these kingdoms and in the machinations of the gods who wish to control them. Players will take on the role of the protagonist, Leo, who wakes up from a massive explosion only to find himself lost in a strange land with only one memory left for him. As players set out on a journey to retrieve Leo’s memories, they will unravel the mysteries of the bizarre mechanical infection that slowly engulfs everything humanity knows. The captivating story was written by Sakaguchi and is complemented by a breathtaking soundtrack by the celebrated Final Fantasy composer, Nobuo Uematsu.

To tell this epic story, developer Mistwalker approached a novel in the form of a “memory” system, where players find and collect various memories, annotations and annotations presented as miniature novels in the game to embody the story, the kingdoms and Fantasian characters.

The game brings a little of the experience of the Final Fantasy franchise, such as the “Dimension Battle” mechanic, which allows players to send enemies previously found in a separate dimensional dungeon to streamline combat and maximize uninterrupted exploration of locations.

Each of the more than 150 dioramas was created by the masters of the Japanese “Tokusatsu”, or special effects industry. To create miniature real-life scenarios for Fantasian, the game uses veterans who have worked on projects like the Godzilla, Attack on Titan and Ultraman films.

Fans of the Final Fantasy franchise will also be able to hear the soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu, which promises to be memorable in the magical world of Fantasian, with captivating battle melodies to breathtaking dungeon pieces.

Talking to the Border, Sakaguchi explained that “in addition to the touch controls, the game was not specifically adapted for the Apple Arcade. Instead, the goal was to create a console-like experience for mobile devices. He describes the game as ‘a truly comprehensive RPG experience’ ”.

Fantasian is still defined as “coming soon” in the Apple Arcade. Players will be able to enjoy it on the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. You will also be able to use a game controller in this adventure.
