Fans should ‘forget Bayonetta 3’ for now, says Platinum’s Hideki Kamiya

Bayonetta 3

It has been just over three years since Bayonetta 3 was first confirmed in development for the Nintendo Switch, but since then, we have had little to do other than a few guarantees telling us that things are going “very well”, “very smoothly, “” well “and” very well “again. Damn it.

It seems that we may still be a long way from learning more; PlatinumGames co-founder Hideki Kamiya has already told fans that he hopes to share more about the title in 2021, but thanks to a new interview with VGC, it looks like nothing is set yet. Here’s what Kamiya had to say when asked about this possible 2021 update:

“It is not really our position to say, but … it is January. We need something to come out, right? I think it is safe to wait for something to come out. It is still a long year away, is what I” am saying. “

When asked what we can expect from this eventual update, Kamiya jokes that fans should “restart and forget” the game so that any new announcements are a welcome surprise:

“I understand it’s driving fans crazy! In light of that, my suggestion would be that maybe we should all restart and forget about Bayonetta 3. So when something finally happens, it will be a good surprise, won’t it?”

In the same interview, PlatinumGames also confirmed that Astral Chain IP is now wholly owned by Nintendo, after it was originally a co-owned franchise.
