Pedestrian in critical condition after being run over in St. Paul
“She is opening and closing her eyes, and we are just hoping for the best,” said Sari.
St. Paul Police said the driver ran over Edwards as she walked down Block 800 on Rice Street at around 8:30 pm on December 1. Carolyn Edwards told investigators that the driver who hit her stopped, examined her and took off.
“Do you get back in the car and then leave? This is ridiculous, ”said Sari Edwards.
Police believe the vehicle that hit her is a silver Dodge Caravan. The vehicle’s windshield was damaged on the driver’s side. In addition, there are distinct rust marks and a damaged collision bumper.
“It’s been 30 days, it’s been a whole month, how are you sleeping at night? I don’t wish anyone any harm, but I said that, yes, I said, I hope he was tormented every night,” said Sari .
St. Paul’s grandmother, 57, remains in a coma after being hit by a runaway driver, suspicion remains at large
Sari said she calls her mother two to three times a day, but because of COVID-19, visiting is not the same.
“We simply continue to pray that while she is in a coma, God is repairing and fixing everything that needs to be fixed,” said Sari.
While Sari and her family wait for answers, they are confident that their mother will make a full recovery and they will have the justice they deserve.
“You’re waking up every day knowing what you’ve done, just give yourself up,” said Sari.
