Family says Kansas woman died of reaction to COVID-19 vaccine

The family of a Kansas woman claims that she died of a reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine – although health officials have not confirmed that her death was linked to the shooting.

Jeanie M. Evans, 68, of Effingham, died “unexpectedly” on Wednesday at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, according to an online obituary.

Evans received his first dose of the vaccine the day before at the Keystone Early Learning Center, reported the KSNT news station.

As soon as she started having an adverse reaction, she was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where she died later, the outlet said.

It is not clear which of the approved COVID-19 vaccines Evans received.

She leaves five children, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, according to her family.

In a statement, Stormont-Vail Hospital said that no cause of death had been determined.

“The individual was transported to our hospital after receiving the vaccine in the region,” said a hospital spokesman.

“The cause of death has not yet been determined. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family. “

Health officials have repeatedly emphasized that they believe the benefits of receiving the vaccine outweigh the risks.

So far, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not identified any deaths resulting from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

More than 130 million doses have been administered across the country, said the CDC.
