Universal Pictures may be at the top of the list in terms of studios that are acting safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many studios delayed their biggest box office hits to late summer or fall, at the beginning of the pandemic, Universal delayed everything by year from the beginning. It ended up working for them, since no one was able to collect their collective shit and wear a stupid mask, so the pandemic is still going on, and a lot of studios have had to delay their films a second time. Universal’s plan to play it safe still seems to be in place, although there is a vaccine in the world. According to Variety, Universal and Dreamworks delayed The Boss Baby: Family Business from March 26, 2021 to September 17, 2021. Destroys a film called The bad guys, which still doesn’t have a new release date.
Dreamworks and Universal just released the first teaser, summary and images for The Boss Baby: Family Business last month, so they’re making that decision after starting initial marketing. However, there hasn’t been much, and they probably still have time to put the brakes on something very big, delaying the film now instead of waiting to see if things are better in March. [which they probably won’t be].
Following DreamWorks Animation’s Oscar-nominated blockbuster comedy, the Templeton brothers – Tim (James Marsden, X-Men franchise) and their little brother Boss Baby Ted (Alec Baldwin) – became adults and walked away from each other . Tim is now a married father who stays at home. Ted is CEO of a hedge fund. But a new boss with a cutting edge approach and a positive attitude is about to bring them back together … and inspire a new family business.
Tim and his wife, Carol (Eva Longoria), the family’s breadwinner, live in the suburbs with their superintelligent 7-year-old daughter, Tabitha (Ariana Greenblatt, Avengers: Infinity War), and adorable new child Tina (Amy Sedaris , BoJack Horseman from Netflix). Tabitha, who is at the top of her class at the prestigious Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood, worships her uncle Ted and wants to become like him, but Tim, still in touch with his young and hyperactive imagination, fears she is working too hard and is losing out in a normal childhood.
When baby Tina reveals that she is – ok! – a top-secret BabyCorp agent on a mission to discover the dark secrets behind Tabitha’s school and its mysterious founder, Dr. Edwin Armstrong (Jeff Goldblum), she will bring the Templeton brothers together on unexpected paths, take them to reevaluate the meaning of the family and find out what really matters.
The Boss Baby: Family Business, directed by Tim McGarthstars Alec Baldwin, Jeff Goldblum, Ariana Greenblatt, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Eva Longoria, James Marsden, and Amy Sedaris. It will be released on September 17, 2021 /
