Falcons confirmed a report earlier in the day, announcing that it completed an interview with interim coach Raheem Morris for the full-time position.
Falcons team president and CEO Rich McKay said on December 22 that the search committee would interview Morris for the position that the defensive coordinator has held since October 12. The Falcons fired general manager Thomas Dimitroff and coach Dan Quinn after a 0-5 game.
The Falcons are 4-6 under Morris, and five of those losses were five points or less.
“Every day I communicate with Rich McKay,” said Morris. “Twice a week, you communicate with Arthur Blank. All of these things are seen as interviews. Everything will be an interview, and always will be, and always has been. You always have to remember that in everything you are doing. “
Morris was 17-31 as the head coach of the 2009-11 Buccaneers.
