Hot microphone catches the pilot complaining about the Bay Area
The verbal take of an airplane pilot against the Bay Area was captured by a hot microphone on the air traffic control scanner at Mineta San Jose International Airport.
SAN JOSE, California (KTVU) – An airline pilot’s swearing speech against the Bay Area was picked up by a hot microphone as he waited for takeoff.
The verbal speech was captured on the air traffic control scanner at Mineta San Jose International Airport on March 13 and filed by Live ATC.
The audio is unstable and the context around the speech remains unclear, according to travel website One Mile at a Time, which was the first to report the incident.
“Fuck this place, damn liberal fuck it,” the unidentified pilot is heard saying. Later, he continued with, “F-king weirdos, probably driving by f-king Hyundais, f-king roads and shit that go as slow as fk.”

He makes another bizarre statement: “You don’t have the courage, unless you’re a coal f-king, dammit,” presumably in reference to the thick black exhaust that comes with a diesel engine.
The pilot in question allegedly works for Southwest Airlines according to SFGATE, although the company has not identified the pilot.
“Our corporate culture is built on the principle of treating others with concern and dignity and comments are inconsistent with the professional behavior and general respect we demand from our employees,” said a spokesman for the news agency.
