Police are currently dealing with an ongoing incident at an isolated Welsh industrial site, with people being asked to stay away.

A bomb disposal unit was called in to handle an incident at the Wrexham Industrial Estate, where the AstraZeneca anti-coronavirus vaccine is made and stored, the BBC said, adding that North Wales police are also working on the site.

The broadcaster said that a cordon was installed near the Pharmaceutical factory, with the public oriented to stay away from the site.

The plant previously reported that it had received a suspicious package, which led to it being partially evacuated.

The Wrexham plant, which has the capacity to produce up to 300 million doses of the vaccine a year, struck a deal in August, at the height of the pandemic, to help prepare inoculation for distribution across the country.

In particular, he is responsible for putting the vaccine in vials and packaging it for shipping to the UK regulator for inspection, FT wrote earlier this month.

“We are immensely proud to have been selected to partner with the UK government on this project,” said Ravi Limaye, managing director, when the state contract was first announced.

“We have a sophisticated sterile factory and a highly qualified workforce”, praised the patrimony.

In addition to the ambitious goals of delivering Swedish-British inoculation to the EU, the United Kingdom recently launched the largest mass vaccination program within its borders, with the aim of protecting tens of millions of people from COVID-19 in a few months.

The government plans to offer vaccines to 15 million people – those over 70, health professionals and those in need of protection – by mid-February, and millions more over 50 and the rest of the priority groups by the spring. These categories are believed to represent 90-99% of people at risk of dying from the highly contagious infection.
