How Festivale works in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
If you want to participate in Festivale in New Horizons, then go down to the Home Services square and speak to Pavé.
He will assign you to hunt feathers and, if you bring three of a color, he will give you a Festivale item.
This item will be the same color as the feathers you gave him, so if you give Pavé three blue feathers, then expect to receive a blue flag from Festivale, a tent or one of the other pieces of furniture.
What Pavé really wants, however, is the rainbow feathers and he will give you a DIY recipe that will allow you to create them.
If you bring enough Rainbow Feathers to Pavé, you will win the special Float Festivale.
How to find blue, green, purple and red feathers for Festivale in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Throughout Festivale in New Horizons, you will see feathers floating on your island.
In addition to the special rainbow feathers, there are four types of feathers for you to hunt – blue, green, purple and red.
Just like seasonal materials such as snowflakes and petals of cherry blossoms, these feathers can be easily caught in your net. Simply run around the island, keeping an ear out for the wibbly-wobbly sound that means a feather is nearby, and then pass your hammock.
These feathers are a little more durable than seasonal materials, so don’t worry if you get it wrong a few times, because the feather won’t go away.
If you are having trouble finding a specific feather color, take the time to talk to your villagers. They are also hunting feathers and will be happy to negotiate.
When you speak to a villager, he will tell you which color of feather you are looking for and which color you will receive.
As the feathers accumulate in groups of three, you can only change a maximum of three feathers at a time, and it is important to note that you will always change the maximum number of feathers in any stack you select.
This means that if you only want to exchange a red feather, for example, but only have a stack of three, you will want to take an additional red feather before making the exchange.
Rainbow feather for Festivale in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
Rainbow feathers are the most difficult to find during Festivale in New Horizons.
You can find them floating around your island like other colored feathers, but as this is a rare occurrence, it is not a reliable source of Rainbow Feathers. It is much easier to create Rainbow Feathers using the DIY recipe that Pavé gave you.
To create a Rainbow Feather, you need one of the feather colors – blue, green, purple and red.
They can be easily collected with your network or by negotiating with villagers. Once you have one of each color, just head to the nearest DIY workbench and get on board.
Rainbow Feathers can then be used to receive Festivale de Pavé items or to personalize those same items.
How to get the Festivale Float during Festivale in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you want to win the Festivale Float during Festivale in New Horizons, you need to start collecting feathers.
To win the Festivale Float, you must first receive one of each Festivale de Pavé item. This can be done by exchanging nine Rainbow Feathers or nine sets of three-color feathers.
Anyway, after receiving all nine items, Pavé will order three Rainbow Feathers.
Collect or create these Rainbow Feathers and, in return, he will give you the Festivale Float.
You can now repeat the process to earn more Festivale items and additional Festivale floats or simply do something else.

If you want to customize a Festivale item, you will need to create or collect multiple Rainbow Feathers. The amount of Rainbow Feathers differs depending on the item you wish to customize and, it is important to note, that Festivale Float is the only item that cannot be customized.
Festivale outfits in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
To truly participate in Festivale in New Horizons, you need to dress accordingly. Fortunately, the Able Sisters covered you, selling clothes inspired by Festivale before the event even took place.
The Able Sisters will sell the following Festivale-themed clothing items:
- Festivale accessory – 2,240 bells
- Festivale Costume – 2,600 bells
- Tank Festivale Dress – 2,600 Bells
Each of these items can be purchased in blue, green, purple or red.
If you want to ensure that you are dressed to impress for Festivale, we recommend purchasing the chosen costume in advance. That’s because the clothes listed above are part of Able Sisters’ revolving stock, meaning there is no guarantee that these items will be available every day.
Fortunately, however, Festivale garments are guaranteed to be on sale during the event itself.
Viva Festivale reaction set in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
From February 1st to 15th, you can purchase the Viva Festivale Reaction Set at Nook’s Cranny in New Horizons.
The Viva Festivale reaction set costs 19,800 bells and can only be purchased once for each playable villager.
After bringing the set of reactions, you will automatically unlock four reactions with the theme Festivale – Confetti, Feelin ‘It, Let’s Go and Viva.
These reactions will really help you get into the Festivale mood and will remain unlocked once the event is over. Remember: you only buy them between February 1st and February 15th.
During this time, Nook’s Cranny will also sell an item from the Festivale set every day.
Festival date and time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
Festivale in New Horizons will always take place on February 15th of each year.
In 2021, Festivale takes place on Monday, February 15, and lasts all day, which means that Pavé will stay on his island until 5:00 am on the 16th, which is the daily reset time at New Horizons.
On this day, you will be able to speak to Pave outside of Residents’ Services and collect the feathers that float on your island.
