Eyes of Tomorrow is one of the best rocket launchers in Destiny 2. It is also one of the rarest, and some players who have spent months trying to get their hands on one have yet to make it. They are especially shocked now that one of the Bungie developers has confirmed that it is easier to get the more people play.

One of the things that makes Eyes of Tomorrow special is that it can fire six rockets that track six different enemies simultaneously, making it fun in PVE and deadly in PVP. The other is that it only falls from the last attack in Destiny 2: The Deep Stone Crypt. Players can only find him in the chest by eliminating the final boss, and even then he rarely appears – at least for some people.

“We heard that question a lot,” assistant game director Joe Blackburn wrote on Twitter yesterday. “Verified with the team, Eyes of Tomorrow has a cumulative drop chance – that is, each week you beat Taniks on your own, the chance of you getting those sweet homing rockets increases (eventually up to 100% if you’re super unlucky ). “

Bungie did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Kotaku tracking what the actual cumulative drop rates are.

Some players certainly were very unlucky. “24 cleanings and still nothing. Luck 25 will be my number ?! ”Replied one on Twitter. “Almost 40 lootable clearings so far with no fall,” wrote another. “I hope to invest time, but it is terrible to climb so high with nothing to show.” Many players about the game subreddit I also had a difficult time, while others won several Eyes of Tomorrow rocket launchers in just a dozen attack cleanups.

Destiny players are used to working for dozens of hours to get the best advantage in legendary weapons and armor with the best stats, but Eyes of Tomorrow has become a big sore spot, partly because it is necessary to unlock the coveted new game Invasion Seal Deep Stone Crypt. Seals are special emblems of honor displayed on the player’s loading pages, and for many Deep Stone Crypt it is the first one they have pursued. One of their requirements, however, is that players earn one of each of all raid loops, including Eyes of Tomorrow, effectively adding a large RNG element to a challenge-based achievement.

Also, Eyes of Tomorrow is just a really cool rocket launcher, which in a way resembles the famous exotic Gjallarhorn from the first game. In addition, Bungie announced last week that rocket launchers are getting a big buff when The Season of the Chosen begins on February 9. Maybe he can improve Eyes of Tomorrow’s drop rates while doing this.
