Exclusive 3/4/21 date sets limits for Las Vegas wedding licenses

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Prospective newlyweds lined up at the wedding certificate office in Las Vegas on Friday, before a single wedding date: 4/3/21.

Nearly 700 couples obtained licenses for Saturday’s date, said Jeff Klein, a spokesman for the Clark County Marriage Bureau, when the city where Elvis can be part of the wedding party was set to mark yet another peculiar wedding date. The secretariat marked the occasion with souvenir wedding certificates.

“Special dates like 3/4/21 are always hugely popular,” said county employee Lynn Goya, who noted that more than 1,800 couples were married on December 13, 2014.

April is usually very busy for weddings, and previous dates with notable number sequences registered more than 1,000 weddings in one day, said Goya.

The office is preparing for the first 10 busy days in December, offering what the clerk calls “palindrome days” for numbers with the same reading back and forth.

Almost 2,700 couples were married on 10/10/10; more than 1,800 were married on 12/12/12; and 3,125 were married on 11/11/11.

The most popular date to date?

Goya said 7/7/7 got the better of it, with 4,492 marriages.
