A former Tennessee running back is joining the South Carolina coaching staff under coach Shane Beamer for the first year.
Montario Hardesty will serve as a running back trainer for Gamecocks.
“First of all, Coach Hardesty is a fantastic person,” said Beamer in a press release. “He was a great player in college and played in the NFL. Many coaches I spoke to referred to him as a “future star” in the coaching profession.
“He is an excellent recruiter with connections in North Carolina and across the East Coast. He himself had multiple position coaches as a player, so he will relate very well with our running backs. I love his journey as a coach – the places he has been and the roles he has played. “
Hardesty played for the 2005-09 Vols, totaling 1,345 running yards and 13 touchdowns.
