Ex-Raiders, Seattle Seahawks coach Tom Flores, elected to the Professional Football Hall of Fame, said the source

Former Raiders and Seattle Seahawks coach Tom Flores was elected to the Professional Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2021, an ESPN source told Paul Gutierrez.

Flores was the only finalist in the trainer category for the 2021 Class.

Flores won Super Bowl rings as a player, assistant coach and head coach to go with an AFL championship as a player.

Flores and the Hall of Famer Mike Ditka are the only people in NFL history who have been Super Bowl winners as players, assistant coaches and head coaches. His nine seasons as a Raiders coach included two Super Bowl wins, an 8-3 post-season record and a 0.727 playoff win percentage, behind only Vince Lombardi.

The full class of 2021, which will be presented on Saturday night at CBS, was chosen on January 19 by Hall’s board of selectors during a virtual meeting. The new Hall of Fame will be consecrated during a multi-day event from August 5-9 in Canton, Ohio. The extended consecration weekend will also include ceremonies for the Hall of 2020 Class, as well as the Centennial Class of Hall of Fame Members selected as part of the league’s 100th anniversary. Both were canceled last year because of restrictions on COVID-19.

The Hall 2020 class includes Steve Atwater, Isaac Bruce, Steve Hutchinson, Edgerrin James and Troy Polamalu. The Centennial class includes Harold Carmichael, Jim Covert, Bill Cowher, Bobby Dillon, Cliff Harris, Winston Hill, Jimmy Johnson, Alex Karras, Steve Sabol, Donnie Shell, Duke Slater, Mac Speedie, Ed Sprinkle, Paul Tagliabue and George Young.
