Everything we know about it …

This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom… ..

Here is the original story (from 17 November):

Samsung’s One UI 3.0 skin on Android 11 has not yet been released to the public as a stable update. Unsurprisingly, Samsung didn’t even participate in the Android 11 beta program alongside Google.

Therefore, users of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series only got a chance to try the One UI 3.0 beta based on Android 11 after Google released the stable update.

The One UI 3.0 beta program was first launched for the Samsung Galaxy S20 line in its home country – South Korea – and then expanded to other regions, including Germany and the USA.

At the moment, Samsung has released six beta updates to One UI 3.0 with the last one having the ZTKA software version number.

That said, you can check out our dedicated tracker to learn more about the launch of One UI 3.0 for all qualified Samsung smartphones.

Now, although One UI 3.0 is new on the block, it is likely that we will see Samsung debut its One UI 3.1 skin based on Android 11 in the coming months.

More precisely, we will be able to see the new skin on January 14, 2021, according to Jon Prosser, who said that Samsung would be announcing the Galaxy S21 series on that date.

Now, if you’re wondering what the Samsung Galaxy S21 series announcement has to do with the One UI 3.1 skin, listen to us.

Samsung has a habit of launching new flagships with a slightly newer version of its internal skin.

Take for example the Samsung Galaxy S9 series, both devices have been upgraded to One UI 1.0. So when Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 series, it came preloaded with One UI 1.1.

Likewise, the South Korean giant launched the Galaxy S20 series with the One UI 2.1 cover and the Galaxy Note 20 series came with One UI 2.5 ready for use.

So unless Samsung decides to change the existing trend we just highlighted, it is more than likely that the Samsung Galaxy S21 series comes with the One UI 3.1 cover pre-installed.

This means that we will have three smartphones – the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra – running One UI 3.1 early next year.

Given that we are still a few months away from the expected launch, there is little or no information on what to expect from Samsung’s next skin.

However, it is likely that Samsung would refine some of the existing features and perhaps even add some new ones to improve the user experience.

Current features, such as Moon mode and Night mode, may show some improvements with the new skin, as highlighted here.

Samsung Galaxy S20 +

In addition, you can expect to see some features of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series being brought to older Samsung phones, such as the Galaxy S20 and the Note 20 series with the One UI 3.1 update.

But it is important to note that not all of the features that Samsung can introduce with the Galaxy S21 lineup would be available on older smartphones due to hardware limitations.

Of course, don’t expect to see any major UI revisions, as upgrading to One UI 3.1 from One UI 3.0 is not important.

As for the devices that will receive the One UI 3.1 update, we expect Samsung to launch the next skin for all smartphones eligible for the One UI 3.0 update based on Android-11.

However, most of the information we have about the One UI 3.1 update is based on previous speculation and trends and therefore should not be treated as official claims.

As usual, we will continue to look for any developments regarding Samsung’s One UI 3.1 skin and will post an update as new details emerge.

Update 1 (December 3)

IST 11:45 am: When responding to a user question about an error related to Night Mode, a member of the Samsung team responded by saying that Google will resolve the issue by the end of this month (i.e. December).

They also added that Samsung will continue to improve after the release of One UI 3.1. Does this suggest that One UI 3.1 may appear earlier than expected?
