Everything Spencer Rattler said after the Oklahoma Cotton Bowl victory

No. 6 Oklahoma reached the Cotton Bowl victory over No. 7 Florida on Wednesday night. It was the culmination of a recovery race for the Sooners, who were 1-2 after three weeks into the season.

The first quarter of a 55-20 win was all it took to set the tone for the Sooners on Wednesday night. It only took five moves to score the first touchdown of the game and only two defensive moves to defeat the Florida quarterback Kyle Trask and return for a score. Only then was it 14-0 in the first minutes of the game and the first blow came.

The Gators fought and reached four points in the second quarter, but the Sooners responded quickly with two more touchdowns to take 31-13 into the break. From there, it was easy to pull over to Oklahoma, who won their eighth consecutive game of the year, taking home the Cotton Bowl trophy.

Quarterback Spencer Rattler continued his good streak and secured his pre-season Heisman buzz, despite not being named a finalist this year. He finished 22 out of 34 and passed for 272 yards, a touchdown and an accelerated touchdown in the explosion. At the very least, it gives you an edge by going to next season, where Oklahoma will be the 12 big favorites once again and will be a candidate for the college football playoffs.
