The professor who created the recycled wool gloves Bernie Sanders wore at the presidential inauguration and who sparked countless memes on social media is now partnering with the Vermont Teddy Bear Company to meet the growing demand.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Vermont charity.
“I can’t be more excited, because I personally can’t make 18,000 pairs of gloves,” said Jen Ellis on Saturday, estimating how many people contacted her. “Everyone is going to have their gloves – everyone.”

Ellis, a Vermont elementary school teacher who runs a side business that makes recycled wool gloves, gave Sanders a gift and he wore them in Joe Biden’s possession.
His fashion and frozen appearance have spawned countless memes, as the overlapping photos of the former presidential candidate taking a seat on the subway, the moon, the couch with the cast of Friends and other creative venues have become a social media sensation.
It is unclear when the first gloves will be available for purchase. Those interested in purchasing a pair can leave an email on the company’s website.

In the past, Vermont Teddy Bear made special bears to raise money for Make-A-Wish Vermont, and recently gave office space to the organization for $ 1 a year, said James Hathaway, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Vermont .
“We are very grateful to Vermont Teddy Bear, Jen and, of course, Bernie for being so Bernie,” said Hathaway in a statement.
