After a stint at the Detroit Lions, defensive side Everson Griffen has made known in recent days his desire to return to the Minnesota Vikings. Griffen played with the purple team in the first 10 years of his career and hopes to return after being absent for the 2020 season.
How he’s handling it may have gone through a rough patch after Griffen fired a straight shot at the Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins. In a now deleted Twitter topic, Griffen said “Kirk Cousins is dumb” and told people to “Ask [Mike] ZIMMER if he wanted Kirk ????? “

After that, Griffen deleted the topic and posted a new post apologizing for what happened.
I’m sorry for posting this about Kirk. It’s not right for me to call people out. I apologize for hurting you. I am very grateful and grateful.

Credit to Griffen for not following the “I got hacked” path and accepting to have posted something I shouldn’t have.
How it affects Griffen’s chances of returning to Minnesota is yet to be seen. This probably didn’t help, but it also may not mean that the door is completely closed.
On the one hand, we will overcome the idea that everyone on each team likes each other. With 53 players plus coaches and front teams, there will be some internal turmoil even in the best teams; it’s just something that the general public doesn’t normally know. If the Vikings hired Griffen, they would be confident that Griffen would not only improve the team, but that he and Cousins would be able to coexist for the team’s benefit. And while that is the case, there is still hope that Griffen will return to Minnesota playing for the Vikings.
