Eva Mendes paused on social media after her daughter said she was ‘on the phone a lot’

She was almost silent on Instagram last month.

And Eva Mendes revealed on Saturday that her absence on social media came after one of her daughters was disappointed by the attention she was paying on the phone.

The 46-year-old actress was inspired to make a confession after sharing a post encouraging parents to let their children report them.

Eva again posted a tweet from the @latinxparenting account on how to deal with children’s ‘disrespect’.

– Let your kids call you. It is not disrespect. It’s healthy, ‘he began.

‘Children can be so strongly aligned with their value that they will have nothing less than the respect they deserve. They will not accept any BS. Not even from you, ‘continued the post.

‘Congratulations, you are raising a child with power.’

In her caption, Eva explained: ‘I haven’t posted recently because my son told me that I talked a lot.

– I realized she was taking it personally. And she is a child, of course she would take it personally. They take things personally, unless we do our best to make it clear to them that it is not personal, ‘she explained.

‘So we talked well, I apologized and promised her that I would stay tuned. I realized that just because I’m always at home with them doesn’t mean I’m always there. ‘

Eva’s message was the first since December 29, when she wished a happy birthday to makeup artist Shirley Raines, who serves homeless people living on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles.

Her last Instagram post came on December 17, when she cut an iconic album cover by opera singer Maria Callas to take a picture of her.

‘My daughter wanted to cut Maria Callas’ face off the album cover. I died a little quietly inside, but quickly said yes. The blame for Mom’s pandemic in full swing, ‘she admitted in her caption.

In October, Eva joked with the Sydney Morning Herald that being quarantined at times ‘seems like we’re running some kind of inn with very drunk and aggressive guests’.

‘We really feel that we are working in a hotel, and guests are angry and bossy and demand food that is brought to them. And when they go to sleep, we just have to clean up and talk about how they treated us that day! ‘

Hitch’s star has been out of the spotlight in recent years as she has focused on raising her daughters Esmeralda, six, and Amada, four, who she shares with her husband Ryan Gosling, 40.

The couple met in 2011 on the set of their movie The Place Beyond The Pines, which starred Ryan and Bradley Cooper in leading roles and was released the following year.

The actors and lovers started an artistic collaboration when she appeared on Ryan’s debut, Lost River, as cabaret performer Cat, who represents a bloody act for her clients.

The experimental and critical-divisional film was a commercial failure and also marked Eva’s last film to date, when she moved away from Hollywood to focus on child rearing.

The actress has spoken several times in recent years about the possibility of returning to the screens.

She told HuffPost Australia in October that Disney films may be the only thing left that she could act in, because she didn’t want to be involved in violence or anything that would make her kids ‘ashamed’.
