We haven’t had a bit of fun here in a while and it was great to see the Kentucky Wildcats pass over the South Carolina Gamecocks.
John Calipari started the game by handing the keys to Davion Mintz as the team’s main point guard and the results were paid for immediately. With Mintz running point and Brandon Boston Jr. in both it seemed to be what we were offensively expecting from this team.
It looked like the game from the last day of the old school that we come to love, in which cats strangle their opponent and Calipari is able to clean his bench to allow visitors to run a little. The elephant in the room is the obvious question of whether or not Kentucky can make a movie script run to win the SEC tournament as its only way to get to the NCAA tournament.
Here’s what we discussed:
- Davion Mintz as a shipowner maybe it should have happened earlier
- More Isaiah Jackson at five with Keion Brooks at four, please
- BJ Boston was out like the two guards
- Zoom press conference by John Calipari
- Is Cal preparing the table for a second season of BJ Boston?
- Does BBN have a last breath of hope?
- Calipari asked fans to invade Nashville
