ERCOT puts all public services across the state on hold for continuous blackouts over the weekend

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages programming on an electrical network that carries 90% of the Texas load.

Fannin County, Texas – Fannin County Electric Cooperative is warning its members that the Texas Electric Reliability Council (ERCOT) has put all utilities across the state on hold for continuous blackouts over the weekend because of cold temperatures expected.

If ERCOT instructs Fannin County Electric Cooperative to initiate blackouts, Co-op personnel will have an hour from the time of notification to begin eliminating the electrical charge in various parts of their system in 15-minute increments, with 2 -3 hours between interruptions.

Fannin County Electric Cooperative will update your Facebook page with a post if the Co-op is forced to act.

Fannin County Electric Cooperative is asking all members to be as conservative as possible during this cold weather to help prevent the need for blackouts.
