Epic causes the new Fortnite Crew skin + paid custom matchmaking?

It looks like Epic has big plans for the future of the Fortnite Crew.

Introduced at the start of season 5, Fortnite Crew is a monthly subscription service that offers players a selection of in-game rewards. Each month, members receive an exclusive costume and 1,000 V-Bucks, the package also grants access to the current Battle Pass.

The December and January skins, Galaxia and Green Arrow, were a delight, but what’s next?

In a recent update, Epic Games revealed “We are not yet ready to announce who is in the February Crew Pack, but we can say that it is a new face of the Fortnite world that players should expect!”, followed by the fox and shush Emoticons.

Although the words in the statement above have left some people a little confused, fans have already started to guess. Unsurprisingly, the fox emoji is the basis of most arguments, with popular suggestions including video game characters Starfox and Foxy, or alternate versions of existing outfits like Drift and Fennix.

The developers also confirmed that all old, present and new members of the Fortnite Crew who log in between now and February 15 will receive the “Members Only” Emote for free. This is a thank you to everyone for enduring a series of technical problems related to the service.

Upcoming Fortnite Crew Benefits

Reliable Leaker @iFireMonkey shared an interesting section of a survey that Epic Games recently sent players about the Fortnite Crew subscription. The question asked users to rate a selection of potential future rewards based on order of importance.

These benefits include:

  • Custom combination options

  • Highest number of players for Creative Islands

  • Greater number of creative islands

  • Multi-month purchase options

  • Account profile domain

  • Cloud-based replay with unlimited storage

  • Exclusive types of cosmetics

  • Monthly physical shipping with additional rewards

  • Exclusive player experiences

  • Cosmetics that show signature stability

  • Presentable subscriptions

  • Retail purchase options (for example, being able to purchase Fortnite Crew memberships in stores)

Based on this list, Epic has big plans for joining the Fortnite Crew and intends to make it a much more attractive offer. The community is divided over whether it is fair to place certain features, such as a personalized combination and increasing the number of players on Creative behind a pay wall, but it certainly seems like a good way to boost subscriptions.

It will probably take a while before we see any of these new suggestions implemented, so for now, we are back to trying to decipher that annoying fox.
