Michigan state football: four-star WR Kevin Thomas is a top priority for 2022
After an already horrible season, Michigan state basketball suffered another blow today, after Enoch Boakye announced he would give up.
Enoch Boakye told SI.com that he feels he would not be able to make an immediate impact on East Lansing. “Just doing a lot of research with my people and watching a lot of games, it looks like a lot of guys are going to stay. I want to go to a place where I have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. This is my # 1 goal. ”
Boakye’s reasoning for his withdrawal makes sense. This team had a remarkably bad season. He feels that many of the players currently in the squad will still be there when he has reached East Lansing, because of how poorly they have been playing. To be honest with you, I don’t blame you. I completely understand your reasoning.
This is a blow to Tom Izzo and this program. Boakye has the potential to be one of the best college basketball hotshots. Not having him as a Spartan will be difficult.
On the bright side, Izzo will (hopefully) recruit No. 1 in the country at his disposal, Emoni Bates. Bates is one of the most wanted recruits in recent history. We will never know what Bates and Boakye’s double strike will be like, but I can only imagine how powerful it would have been.
Schools that have contacted Boakye since his announcement include Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Arizona, USC, Duke, Kentucky, Washington State and Gonzaga, according to Michigan’s longstanding commitment.
