IJP, maker of some popular battery meter replacements for Android, has merged Energy Ring support for different separate app devices into one universal app and announced more support for the Galaxy S21 and Pixel 5, along with other developments in development.

If you’re not familiar, the app allows users to customize the color and animation of a ring-shaped battery meter around the selfie camera module on the phone’s display with the option to pay for advanced features.

According to our sister site, APK Mirror, the merged app has been in testing since last March. Most, if not all phones that previously had their own Energy Ring apps, must be compatible with this universal version.

Several new phones also join the support list:

  • Samsung Galaxy S21
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy Note20
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G (regional variant)
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 (regional variant)
  • Google Pixel 5
  • Google Pixel 4a 5G

The developer is looking to recruit testers for the Energy Ring on the Galaxy S21 + and S20 FE. Those interested in participating or requesting compatibility with their unsupported phones can send email [email protected].

The IJP notes, however, that it will stop working on phones that use a lot of accelerating power, such as those from Redmi.

Here is the complete changelog:

WHAT’S NEW
Over 100,000 downloads, thank you all for your support!

Remote update: Added support for Galaxy S21, S21 Ultra, Note 20, Pixel 5, 4a 5G, a variant of the S10 and Z Flip 5G.

* All Energy Ring variants have been combined in a ‘Universal Edition’.

The heavily modified Android operating system, like that of Redmi and the like, is killing the app in the background, despite (sic) the best attempt. Unfortunately, support for these devices will soon cease.

Download the Energy Ring from the Play Store or APK Mirror.
