Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Princess Diana was involved in a gay love triangle with a member of One Direction? Well, soon you will see, perhaps, the next best thing that Emma Corrin will star alongside Harry Styles in the film Amazon Studios My cop. Per Deadline, Emma Corrin, who won her Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for playing the People’s Princess in The crown, signed a contract for the film adaptation of the romantic drama of the same name by Bethan Roberts. Directed by Tony and Olivier award winner Michael Grandage, with a screenplay adapted from Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner, My cop follows the “invalid elderly” Patrick who arrives at the home of the heterosexual couple Marion and Tom, resulting in “a passionate relationship” between Tom and Patrick at a time when homosexuality was strictly prohibited. Corrin and Styles will play the central couple Tom and Marion. When Styles signed up for the project in September, Rebecca star Lily James was linked to the project, but now that role belongs to Corrin. No word yet on who will portray the “disabled old man”, but it would be fun to do a voiceover to get Corrin’s The crown co-star Tobias Menzes takes action. If Prince Phillip does not qualify as an “elderly invalid”, then I just don’t know who does.
