Elvis Presley is about to make someone the king of rock n ‘roll memorabilia – that’s if you make the winning move on a guitar used for his famous 1968 return.
The folks at Kruse GWS Auctions are handling Elvis’ rare cherry red Hagstrom Viking II guitar auction. EP was shooting his ax when he filmed the long-awaited TV special on NBC, which marked his return to live music … after a 7-year hiatus focused on film roles.

This guitar has a lot of Elvis history besides the special – it appeared on the cover of the album “From Elvis in Memphis” and has already been shown at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
The winning bidder for this auction – which starts on March 27 at 10 am – will also receive scores for the 68th TV special. It’s a nice cherry on top, especially considering that Kruse GWS anticipates that the guitar will yield somewhere between $ 750k and $ 1 million.
And, for those who are outdone on the guitar, don’t worry … there are other cool Elvis memorabilia at the auction as well – like his TCB necklace (taking care of business) in 14k yellow gold and blue enamel of his personal property.
In the department not Elvis – Elizabeth Taylorearrings, brooch and necklace personally owned by … as well as the 1950 Cadillac Fleetwood from “The Godfather”.
