Elon Musk thinks CBD is ‘fake’, but Joe Rogan teaches him a lesson

Elon Musk may know a thing or two about rockets and electronic vehicles, but during an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan this week, he revealed a blind spot when it comes to cannabis, saying he thinks the CBD is “fake”.

This is not to say that he believes that the non-intoxicating cannabinoid does not actually exist. Instead, the tech entrepreneur has indicated that he thinks it is overkill and “does nothing”. Rogan, for his part, had a lot to say about the benefits of cannabidiol in response.

The exchange started with Musk and Rogan reflecting on a previous podcast show in 2018, where the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla blew a marijuana cigarette (which he later claimed he never actually inhaled), leading to a NASA investigation into ” safety in the workplace of your aerospace company ”AND“ adherence to a drug-free environment ”.

Rogan, who moved his podcast headquarters from California to Texas last year, noted that his new home state has not yet legalized marijuana, but “CBD is legal here.”

“CBD does nothing. Will be? ”Musk said. “I think this is false.”

Listen to Musk and Rogan discuss the CBD below, starting around 50:00:

Rogan promptly gave Musk an intensive course on the numerous therapeutic benefits of CBD that have been identified in an ever-growing body of scientific literature.

JR: Well, no – no, it definitely does something for the inflammation.

IN: It is true?

JR: Yes for sure.

IN: Well, how much CBD do you need to have before you know it?

JR: Physically?

IN: Yes.

JR: Yes, physically, you don’t have to have much. Physically, CBD works really well for people with arthritis and people with sore muscles and things like that. Yes, no, CBD definitely works for that, but as far as psychoactive effects are concerned, not much. Relieves people’s anxiety.

IN: OK.

JR: It helps people sleep, especially when combined with things like melatonin, you know, things like that. But it doesn’t get you high. People mix CBD with THC for muscle creams, however, and that doesn’t get you high either, but it does increase effectiveness.

IN: OK.

JR: Yes, there are some creams that are really good and that people like that have THC and CBD.

IN: Okay, so you have sunscreen or something and then, I mean, why not throw it in there?

JR: Why not? Well, it’s great for pain.

IN: You smell like marijuana all day.

JR: But it doesn’t smell like marijuana.

IN: It is not?

JR: No, no – some do, however. This is the thing that is not regulated, right? As hippies doing this, this is always the problem.

IN: Quality control.

JR: Yes, without quality control. That’s the problem with edibles. They’re made by a bunch of crazy people, cooking them and some, you know, Chula Vista apartments, you really don’t know what’s in there.

Musk may not be very up to date on the CBD, but he likes to get into marijuana culture from time to time.

When Telsa’s shares reached $ 420, for example, he responded on Twitter with emojis crying and laughing and said “Wow … the stock is so high lol

Of course, 420 is well known among cannabis enthusiasts, as it represents the unofficial cannabis holiday, 4/20. And this was not the first time that Musk touched on that too.

The billionaire tech entrepreneur had problems with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2018 after saying he was considering going public with Tesla at a share price of $ 420 – an announcement the SEC described as “false and misleading” and that it was done without required notification to regulators.

Rogan, for his part, is a proud cannabis and psychedelic enthusiast and once, for example, shared a story about how he dated Dave Chappelle while the comedian ate psilocybin mushrooms that were presented by a stranger.

Texas would study psilocybin and MDMA to treat post-traumatic stress disorder and depression under new law
