Elon Musk: Tesla will reveal updated Cybertruck next quarter as it focuses on production

Elon Musk is teasing Tesla by revealing an updated version of Cybertruck in the next quarter, while the automaker is focusing on putting the electric pickup into production.

Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck in November 2019, but the vehicle is not expected to go into production by the end of 2021.

In the last year, since the launch and leading to the start of production, Tesla has been modifying the electric pickup.

Unlike most automakers that reveal concept vehicles and later production versions that are extremely toned down, Tesla tends to bring production vehicles to the market that closely resemble its original concepts.

However, the automaker still makes refinements and some modifications on the way to production and Cybertruck is no exception.

CEO Elon Musk previously spoke about Tesla upgrading the Cybertruck’s adaptive air suspension. They also talked about how to make the truck smaller, but Musk dismissed that plan after a review of the project in May 2020.

While the automaker has ruled out plans for a smaller Cybertruck for now, some changes to the design and dimensions are expected.

The updated version of Cybertruck was expected to be revealed at the end of last year, but has been postponed.

Now Musk says the Cybertruck update “probably” will come in the next quarter:

The CEO also added that the focus is now on putting the electric pickup into production at Gigafactory Texas, which is still under construction.

Earlier this year, Musk warned that Tesla must be ‘lucky’ so that the electric pickup truck is not delayed and goes into production by the end of 2021.

The update may also reveal some previously announced Cybertruck features that have not yet been demonstrated, such as the sunroof for the electric truck body.

The automaker may also reveal updated specifications for the Cybertruck after plans revealed for its internal battery last year.

Tesla said it plans to launch the two most sophisticated versions of Cybertruck in late 2021.

These two electric trucks will have a range of 300 to 500 miles and will be equipped with two- and three-engine engines and cost from $ 49,000.

A cheaper, shorter-range version of the Tesla Cybertruck will be available later.
