Ellen Pompeo talks about ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ possibly ending

Few characters in all of fiction have gone through as much as Dr. Meredith Gray, played by Ellen Pompeo. Over 17 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith saw gunfights, bomb scares, plane crashes, ferry accidents, death, destruction and despair as she tried to maintain a career as an assistant surgeon and occasionally a dog mother. How much more suffering can a character endure? CBS Sunday Morning tried to get Pompeo to answer that same question in today’s episode, asking whether the ABC medical drama created by Shonda Rhimes will continue or not after the current season, which is on a winter hiatus. Pompeo replies: “I can’t say. Honestly, we haven’t decided. We are really trying to find that out now. ”The producer is incredulous, asking,” Are you in the middle of deciding whether it ends or not? ” and Pompeo answers a question with another question: “What story do we tell to end such an iconic show? How do we do it? I just want to make sure that we do this character and this show and the fans, I want to make sure that we do it right. ” Spoiler alert for this season Grey’s Anatomy: Pompeo also says he doesn’t know whether his character, who hired COVID-19 this season, is alive or dead.
