Less than a month after signing with IMG Models, Ella Emhoff made her catwalk debut.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter and Doug Emhoff’s daughter, 21, went to Proenza Schouler’s catwalk at New York Fashion Week on Thursday, modeling a trio of looks: a gray wool coat with a fluffy collar and matching pants, a shiny black gabardine leather and a sharp black suit worn without a shirt.
The brand filmed the video for the collection two weeks ago at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York.
It seems that Emhoff, who captivated the fashion crowd with his crystal-studded Miu Miu coat in possession of President Joe Biden in January, is preparing to become Proenza Schouler’s new muse. On Monday, she participated in a panel discussion with the brand’s designers, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, at Spring Studios – equipped in Proenza, of course.
“It represents the story that we wanted to tell with the collection. It is the beginning of a new chapter in American history, in the type of clothes we wear and are attracted to. She is the breath of fresh air, ”Hernandez told WWD before the film opened.
“She is a new generation, she studies at Parsons, who is our alma mater, she is a graduate in fine arts interested in knitting and is very someone we would go out with,” added McCollough.
Emhoff’s face was not the only one famous to appear on Proenza Schouler’s virtual catwalk; Meadow Walker, the 22-year-old daughter of the late actor Paul Walker, opened the show in a black blazer and side slit skirt, just a month after starring in the brand’s Pre-Fall 2021 campaign.
