The TV presenter and owner of Bird Bakery posted a statement on Instagram: “I support any victim of aggression or abuse and I urge anyone who has gone through this pain to seek the help they need to heal.”
Elizabeth Chambers took to Instagram on Monday to address allegations surrounding ex-husband Armie Hammer last month, which led to her leaving two high-profile Hollywood projects as he faced allegations of sexual misconduct and fantasies cannibals.
“For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that happened. I am shocked, heartbroken and devastated. Disgust aside, I am listening and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate subjects. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know, ”posted Chambers, who built a career as a TV presenter (Today) and a businessman at the busy Bird Bakery in Dallas. “I support any victim of aggression or abuse and I urge everyone who has gone through this pain to seek the help they need to heal.”
She added that she would not comment further on the matter. “My only focus and attention will continue to be on our children, my work and healing during this incredibly difficult period. Thank you for all the love and support, and I thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move on. “
The latter feeling is no different from what the couple shared last July, when Hammer and Chambers announced that they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage and 13 years “as best friends, soulmates, partners and parents”. They posted identical statements on Instagram, calling their wedding “an incredible journey”, but one that had come to an end. “As we move into this next chapter, our children and our relationship as co-parents and dear friends will continue to be our priority,” the statement continued referring to their two children, Harper and Ford. “We understand that this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interests of our children and our family, we are asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time.”
What followed was a flurry of headlines about the co-parent setting as they spent months apart. Chambers stayed with the children in the Cayman Islands, where they lived during the pandemic, and Hammers stayed in the United States for a long time before finally meeting during the holidays.
The brilliance only intensified last month after an Instagram account called House of Effie posted a series of direct messages allegedly from Hammer. Unverified messages, some dating back several years, detailed cases, sexual misconduct and cannibalistic fantasies. Two women, Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich, came to Page Six with recorded reports: Lorenze said he used a knife to mark it with the letter “A”, while Vucekovich said he told her he wanted to eat her rib.
A Hammer lawyer said Page six: “The stories that are being perpetuated in the media are a misguided attempt to present a one-sided narrative with the aim of tarnishing Mr. Hammer’s reputation, and the communications of the individuals involved prove it.”
Hammer’s resume suffered a blow. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Hammer was leaving Forced marriage which was to find him co-starring Jennifer Lopez. “I am not responding to these shitty allegations, but in light of the wicked and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot, in good conscience, leave my children for 4 months to make a film in the Dominican Republic,” said Hammer in a statement to THR. “Lionsgate is supporting me in this, and I am grateful to them for that.”
The precipitation continued. Last week, Hammer left The ofert, a series about the making of the iconic film The Godfather ViacomCBS ‘Paramount + steam platform. Despite calling the claims “bullshit”, the impact on Hammer’s career was substantial. Last week, THR reported that Hammer’s Call me by your name collaborators – filmmaker Luca Guadagnino and co-star Timothée Chalamet – created a new project with Taylor Russell entitled Bones and everything, about a young woman looking to find out where her cannibalistic tendencies come from. When Jared only posted the news on his Instagram account, Chambers replied, “No. Words.”
It was his only comment on the subject to date. Several celebrities responded to Chambers’ Instagram post, including Olivia Munn and Busy Philipps. “One of the strongest people I know. Your kids are very lucky to have you, ”wrote Munn. Philipps said, “Sending love to you.”
