Elizabeth Chambers, ex-wife of Armie Hammer, comments on cannibal scandal

Armie Hammer’s ex is speaking out. After acknowledging her ex-husband’s ongoing “cannibal” scandal last week, Elizabeth Chambers adopted a very different tone on Monday.

In his first statement directly addressing the controversy, Chambers said he was “devastated” and has “tried to prosecute everything that happened” in recent weeks.

“I am shocked, heartbroken and devastated. Desolation aside, I am listening and will continue to listen and educate myself on these sensitive issues, ”Chambers, 38, captioned a photo of a beach in the Cayman Islands. “I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know.”

Hammer, who has acted in films such as The social network, call me by your name and Lone Ranger, made headlines last month after alleged private messages emerged attributed to the actor in which he allegedly fantasized about cannibalism and mutilation. (Yahoo Entertainment was unable to verify direct messages from Instagram and the actor issued a vague statement about “bull allegations ***”.)

In the weeks that followed, some of Hammer’s former flames spoke to the media and accused him of abuse and described explicit sexual situations. Some of the relationships allegedly took place while the actor was married to Chambers.

“I support any victim of aggression or abuse and I urge everyone who has gone through this pain to seek the help they need to heal,” added Chambers on Monday. “At this point, I will not comment on this matter anymore. My only focus and attention will continue to be on our children, my work and healing during this incredibly difficult period. Thank you for all the love and support, and I thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move on. “

Chambers and Hammer, 34, filed for divorce simultaneously in July, after 10 years of marriage and 13 years together. They share two sons, 6-year-old daughter Harper and 4-year-old son Ford. The separation was not friendly.

In addition to Hammer’s alleged sleeping habits, the actor was criticized for his supposed party lifestyle. His private Instagram account was leaked to the press, in which he made jokes about drugs. He also attacked Chambers, who stayed in the Cayman Islands with his children in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Well … my ex (for a very good reason) wife refuses to return to America with my children,” Hammer reportedly wrote in a post. “So I have to go back to Cayman … which sucks. Except that there are some silver linings. Like fucking Mrs. Cayman again while I’m down there.

Hammer ended up issuing an apology – but only for referring to the woman dressed in lingerie in his video as “Mrs. Cayman. “

“I would like to clarify that the person in my video, who was stolen from my private Instagram, is not Ms. Cayman, ”he told the Cayman Compass. “I am sincerely sorry for any confusion that my foolish attempt at humor may have caused. My deepest condolences to Miss. Cayman, whom I don’t know, and the entire organization, since I had no intention of suggesting that she was actually Miss. Cayman. “

Hammer has kept a low profile for the past few weeks and has abandoned several projects following the scandal.
