Elisabeth Moss joins Resistance in the new teaser ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) escapes the dystopian world of Gilead, where women are subjugated in a new Hulu teaser The Handmaid’s Tale. The fourth season of the series opens on April 28.

Based on the 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood, the series follows June, one of the Gilead servants who is enslaved and used for fertility purposes. In addition to Moss, the show stars Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, OT Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, Bradley Whitford and Sam Jaeger.

The new clip debuts in June on a deserted city street wearing casual clothes, instead of the maid’s red dress and white cap uniform. It seems that she escaped, as a flashback scene shows her walking in the back of a truck with members of the resistance. In the background, Radio Free America, “the number one source of news from the Resistance,” is broadcast. The station reveals that global sanctions are increasing against Gilead as the violence continues.

“She is going to start a war,” says June’s former master, commander Fred Waterford (Fiennes), in Gilead. Meanwhile, Aunt Lydia (Dowd), who oversees the servants, is on the hunt. “She is planning who knows what kind of atrocities should be committed against our just nation,” says Lydia, adding that June must be found and brought to her.

Junho, however, is ready for battle. “We don’t hide,” she says. “We Fight.” The clip ends on a hopeful note, with June arriving in Canada.
