The elected deputy is now in stable condition at the Ochsner LSU Health ICU in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is receiving remdesivir and antiviral steroids to help fight the virus, according to GE Ghali, chancellor of the Shreveport Academic Medical Center.
Letlow tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday and was admitted to the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana, the next day as a “precaution,” according to Andrew Bautsch, a spokesman for the Louisiana Republican.
Letlow won the Pelican State 5th district seat during the December 5 race.
