Elderly people waiting for the COVID vaccine confused with ‘illegal rave’

Let’s party, geezers.

Law enforcement officers rushed to a location in England to stop what they thought was an illegal rave – only to find that it was a crowd of elderly people waiting to receive a coronavirus vaccine, according to reports.

Concerned neighbors called the police to report revelers possibly displaying the COVID-19 regulations outside the Saxon Hall event space before Friday morning in Essex, according to Echo News.

Instead of ravers, police officers found retirees – some as young as 90, limping on walking sticks – while lining up for shots.

“It was very funny when the police came to be notified that there was a ‘rave’ taking place in Saxon Hall – only to find young people in their 80s and 90s in wheelchairs, zimmer frames and walking sticks, patiently in line for their vaccinations” , Saxon Hall president Dennis Baum told the local agency.

Essex police quickly realized that there were more grandmothers than light sticks at the event and helped direct traffic around the building, which is generally used for weddings and banquets.

“It was absolute chaos and very cold. O [parking lot] it became a shock to drivers over 80, ”Baum told the Harwich and Manningtree Standard. “Grumpy old men and grumpy old women were in abundance.”

He added: “However, as a balancing act, many more thankful people could not have been more thankful for receiving the vaccine.”

Calls erroneously stating that the clandestine party had taken place after a nearby church was destroyed during an illegal New Year’s Eve rave.

In this case, the rave had a DJ and chamber pots, and three people were arrested
