Damn, 2020 was a little bit of work, wasn’t it? It is unlikely to be remembered as a particularly abundant year in human history, with a global pandemic effectively closing the entire world. We had to reduce the things we love to do to keep people safe, and many of us will have lost loved ones due to a virus that, 12 months ago, was not detected in quite so dramatic a light.

2021 doesn’t look like it will be that different – from where we are in the UK, a national blockade has been effectively implemented, which means that we are starting the new year the same way we spent most of 2020 – but there are still reasons to remain excited. The best boffins on earth have discovered a vaccine and, fingers crossed, the new year message we post in 12 months will be a little more optimistic.

Anyway, enough of that, let’s take a moment to look at 2021. What new games do you think we will see? What will events like E3, Gamescom and PAX look like this year? Go Bayonetta 3 finally see the release, or will we just hear that “development is going well” again? How many more employees will Retro hire to work Metroid Prime 4? Does the damn Switch Pro actually materialize?

We are not sure if 2021 has the answers to all these questions, but we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a prosperous and enjoyable year – and thank you for making Nintendo Life the site it is today. On this subject, it is worth mentioning that we had a record year of traffic across the Nlife Network – our sister sites Push Square and Pure Xbox enjoyed their biggest years ever, and all three sites accumulated 361,424,293 pageviews during last 12 months – so 2020 was not all bad, we think.
