Edgar Wright is developing a new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel The running man. Written by King using a pseudonym (Richard Bachman), the dystopian tale follows a poor father selected to appear on a government game show in which he tries to survive 30 days while assassins try to kill him. It’s kind of an adult Hunger Games what certainly inspired Hunger Games.

Now, you see, this will not be a remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s version of The running man. The book is more courageous and its protagonist is a little boy while Arnold Schwarzenegger is … Arnold Schwarzenegger. How Deadline reports, Wright will develop the story with Michael Bacall, your Scott Pilgrim against the world co-writer and Bacall will write the script.

No word on whether or not the film will have a Richard Dawson hologram. Probably not, considering everything I just said about not being a remake of the film, but I say to give people what they want.
