Eddie Murphy says he was ‘bursting with pride’ working with his daughter Bella, 19, in the new film Coming 2 America – and reveals his favorite character he has played
Eddie Murphy is returning to the big screen with his latest film, Coming 2 America – a sequel to his 1988 comedy hit.
On Sunday, the 59-year-old revealed what it was like to work with his daughter, Bella Murphy, 19, who stars next to him in the film as Omma, daughter of his character Prince Akeem.
“You could go and see your son in a school play and your heart would explode with pride,” he told The Sunday Project.

‘So, looking at the set of a movie and my daughter is there and she is in my movie and doing an incredible job, you make me start to get silly and stupid.
“It’s a special thing to have your daughter in the movie and be doing a good job,” said the star.
Eddie also revealed his favorite character he has played – singer Randy Watson, who appeared in Coming To America in 1988.

However, daycare actor Dad says that six hours in the makeup chair to make characters like Randy come to life is too much for him.
‘Every time I’m in a makeup movie, I say,’ Never again. I will never do that again. ‘And somehow I end up doing that. But this is the last time, ‘he said.
