Madden NFL it used to be a normal face on Nintendo platforms, but we didn’t see it for almost a decade later Madden NFL 13 on Wii U. EA still brings us annual updates for FIFA (even if they are “legacy editions”), EA previously said it did not plan to release it on the Switch in 2018, but a recent job list indicated Madden it may finally be coming.
This discovery comes from YouTuber Doctre81, who found a list entitled “Online Software Engineer – (C ++) – Madden”, which dates back to November 2020. According to job requirements, a section asks for 2 years of experience working on “Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo Game Consoles”. This may not seem like much, but EA’s previous job listings did not include Nintendo in its criteria.
At the very least, EA could be investigating a possible version. It is worth remembering that in June 2020, EA confirmed that it would release seven Switch games in that 12-month period. There are only a few months to go until June 2021, and we’ve had six games confirmed since, including Apex Legends earlier this week.
That leaves one more to go, but given Madden’s annual launch schedule, EA could be waiting until the inevitable Madden NFL 22 – as opposed to a Madden NFL 21 port – considering that they are traditionally launched in August. Anyway, let’s just hope it’s not another legacy edition, huh?
