Early odds favor Jake Paul over Ben Askren in a potential boxing match

Jake Paul has only two boxing matches to his name. But punters like their chances on former UFC contender and ONE champion Ben Askren.

According to the odds released by the international sports schedule SportsBetting.ag, Paul is the solid favorite in -200 to beat Askren, who currently stands at +160. A $ 100 bet on Paul would generate a net profit of $ 50, while the same bet on Askren would generate $ 160.

Askren recently accepted Paul’s call, one of the many challenges the YouTube star launched after a viral knockout of Nate Robinson in blockbuster co-headliner Tyson vs. Jones Jr. pay-per-view last month. But Paul and his team have yet to confirm the fight – he and his team seem more focused on a fight with former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor, whom he has repeatedly instigated in profane posts on the internet.

To date, McGregor has remained silent with his set octagon return against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on January 23. Paul also went after former teammate champion, Bellator star Dillon Danis, staging a drive-by water balloon attack quickly went viral. Bellator President Scott Coker said he is not interested in pairing Danis with Paul unless there is a rematch clause in MMA.

In response to Paul’s appeal to McGregor, UFC President Dana White offered two division champion Amanda Nunes. But in an interview with TMZ, Paul quickly dismissed that. The YouTube star also didn’t mention anything about a fight with Askren.

Suffice it to say that this initial bet line will have to remain in the fantasy matchup category for now.
